What do you expect of a first-class hotel? We could of course give you the usual piece about our professional service which is sometimes not so easy to fulfil 100 per cent, no one can earnestly rule out the slightest glitch. But rest assured: Even if we are a bit casual around here, professionalism is still at the centre of all we do. What we would like to convey here, are some of the small things that we believe make all the difference:

Not many hotel lobbies are quite as inviting to make yourself comfortable as our salon. Let us state this here in all immodesty for a change. A salon which in the days of the grand hotel went without saying: a space to adjourn to and at the same time a communication centre. A place to have coffee and cake and a few select wines until late in the evenings.

We don’t believe in blaring background radio with commercials at breakfast. Or the same careless canned background music. We will not offend your aural sense. As fanatic opponents of a constant stream of background noise, we either celebrate peace and quiet or we will consciously serve you a musical experience which is guaranteed to be far from random or shrill. And guaranteed non-mainstream. So get ready for a choice of listening experiences provided by us: classic piano from Satie to Debussy, modern Jazz from John Scofield to present Jazz-trios and smooth and mostly unknown vocal  jazz of the present.

For those who enjoy taking an hour really to listen to music and relax in distinguished atmosphere will be happy to read that we provide selected music at Gerard's salon. Our bose-equipment will make you feel in the symphony or at the jazz-club. Every night we play a piece of classic-music and a jazz- or blues-album, selected by real "experts" who belong to our staff. Let us surprise you with our monthly program, ranging from Schubert to Miles Davis.
